Team DomiNate

Picture from facebook page domiNate.

So this week I wanted to share with you about a race of one of my former teammates. Nate was recently diagnosed with a form of cancer in his sinus. His family put this race together to raise the funds necessary for him to beat it.
The race is  November 15 at 11 am. It begins at Lone Peak High School, goes around a pond and ends back at the high school. They will be awarding prizes for the top three competitors for the ladies and top three for the gentlemen. There will also be awesome race bags that come with t-shirts, arm warmers and bracelets for the participants.
Along with the race the event also has activities for the kids, and booths from their sponsors.
This will be an awesome race to go and do. And it will benefit a great promoter of running in Utah.
Register at https://www.runnercard.com/roadrace/public/raceGroup/975282  or visit their Facebook page Team domiNate for more information.
I'll see you all at the race!

Run gr8 live gr8

Last week I had a chance to meet up with Blake from Run Gr8 and learn a little bit about the store and what they do. Their website is very thorough and after looking at it, I wanted to learn more about the group runs, and the gr8 fit process. The gr8 fit process is the method they use to help you find the right shoe for you.
There are two types of group runs, there is the tuesday night group run for everyone, and there is the saturday morning group run for the ladies.
Group runs are really awesome they meet every tuesday night and they will either do a track workout, a trail run, or run to the pizza store. Each of these workouts is awesome, but what makes the pizza one so unique is that after the run they meet in a banquet room to talk and get to know each other. Its basically networking for runners. You can also sign up to earn mileage points to earn free stuff.
Right now the ladies runs are every saturday at 8 am but it changes based on the weather and the time of year. For the ladies run they meet at the store and do one of three predesigned workouts. There is the option of the 3,5, or 7 mile route. All in all this is a great place to get that extra support in preparation for your upcoming race.
Right along with that I made a video of the run great process so you can get an idea of why it would be worth your time to go through the gr8 fit process.
I had a great experience there if you want to know more about the store you can check out their website, or you can visit the store.

Utah Run your running specialist

I am super excited to tell you about this running store I found while I was driving in Utah county a couple weeks ago. Ever since I saw it I wanted to talk with them and learn more about it so I could share what I learned with you.
Utah Run, a family run business, was started two years ago in Highland, but they recently moved to American Fork because it was a better location. One of the things I immediately noticed when I walked in was the positive atmosphere. It seemed like everyone was happy to be working there. I also liked the layout of the store, they had a triathlon area and a running area everything was pretty clearly labeled. One thing that they do for their customers is they do a running analysis, they do this by having the customer run on a treadmill so they can watch how they run in order to recommend which type of shoe would be best for them. They also time races, and put on a few races. If you would like to check them out they are located in 211 E. State Rd. American Fork, Utah
I wanted to thank one of the owners Aaron Crosby for meeting with me and telling me a little bit about what they are all about, he was a Business major in college and he really loves athletics.
I also wanted to thank Matt, one of the employees, for being in the picture.
Stay tuned I will be posting a trail this week. Also let me know what you would like to see more of.
